The International Mud Day
International Mud Day originated as an initiative of the World Forum Foundation (WFF) and the World Forum Event.
The WFF sees itself as a global organization and advocate for children and their needs, guided by the core values:
Children, Change, Relationships, Spirits, Differences.
Mud Day was decided upon by WFF participants from Australia and Nepal because, until then, there had been no official day of action that focused on both community spirit and environmental awareness.
Accordingly, on this date – June 29th – all children and adults around the world are invited to embrace this motto.
The most famous Mud Day, with the most participants, is "Michigan Mud Day" in the USA, which originated from the filming of a laundry detergent commercial. The commercial itself flopped, but the extras enjoyed the stunt so much that it became an annual tradition to cover themselves in mud – something the children especially enjoy year after year.
Der Internationale Mud Day
Der International Mud Day geht auf eine Initative der World Forum Foundation (WFF) und das World Forum Event zurück.
Die WFF versteht sich als globale Organisation und Interessensvertretung für Kinder und ihre Belange mit den Grundwerten: Children, Change, Relationships, Spirits, Differences. (Kinder, Veränderungen, Zusammenleben, Idee und Geist, Unterschiede)
Der Mud Day (Matschtag) wurde von den WFF Teilnehmer_Innen aus Australien und Nepal beschlossen, da bis dato ein offizieller Aktionstag fehlte, welcher sowohl das Gemeinschaftsgefühl als auch das Bewusstsein für die Umwelt in den Mittelpunkt rückt.
Dementsprechend sind an diesem Datum - der 29. Juni - alle Kinder und Erwachsenen auf der ganzen Welt dazu eingeladen, diesem Motto zu folgen.
Der berühmteste Mud Day mit den meisten Teilnehmern ist der "Michigan Mud Day" in den USA, der auf Dreharbeiten für einen Waschmittel-Werbespot zurückgeht. Der Werbespot selbst floppte, aber den Komparsen gefiel diese Aktion so gut, dass es zu einer jährlichen Tradition wurde, sich mit Lehmschlamm einzumatschen - was hauptsächlich den Kindern jedes Jahr immer wieder aufs Neue Spaß macht.
